SALE STREET REAL ESTATE

Rosie is a long‑time local who knows Orange inside out. As the co‑owner of Sale Street Real Estate, she brings a grounded, people‑first approach to life and work in the region. She’s deeply connected to the community, the seasons, and the everyday rhythms that make Orange NSW feel like home.

Why Orange?

My husband (then boyfriend) had been working FIFO all over WA for a few years and we hated the long‑distance life – limited text credits and patchy Skype calls were the norm in 2009. When he was relocated to Cadia for a six‑month contract, I jumped at the chance to join him.

From the moment we rolled into town in my overheating 1990 Nissan Pulsar, we fell in love. Being Gold Coast born and bred, the quiet country life in Orange NSW was a welcome change from the glitz and crowds. As Orange evolved over the years – especially the incredible food and wine scene – we found even more to love.

What Orange Means to Me

Orange offers such a rare bubble of industry and tourism, which gives me the opportunity to test and redefine our agency’s marketing and style every single day. I love that nothing about Orange is stagnant. The region’s energy keeps me inspired and constantly evolving.

What’s Your Flavour?

My current mood is a day spent gardening or reno‑ing, then jumping into the spa to soak sore muscles, with a chardy in hand and Gang of Youths playing in the background.

What’s Your Rhythm?

I generally wake around 6:30am and jump on the computer to get a bit of work done. Then I shift into mum mode, dragging two teens out of bed and getting them ready for school. We chaotically arrive just as the bell rings.

I roll into work around 8:45am for a predictable day as an agent, with the only constant being lunch on the go – from Sushi King, Pho, Groundstone, you name it. After school pick‑up, it’s more work at home. The bonus is always the wine.

As someone who finds life balance tricky, winter is my favourite season for the forced rest. A mild summer’s day celebrating life with loved ones and food at any one of our Orange establishments comes in a very close second.

Who’s Your Community?

Loretta Svenson, owner of De Salis, is one that comes to mind. She leads with confidence, humility, striking individuality and humorous honesty – qualities that set the tone for how I walk as a mid‑30s business owner. Her passion for her work is obvious and her ability to wear many hats and not fear hard labour is admirable. She also reminds me that life outside the office (or vineyard) is just as important.

What’s Your Orange Moment?

A few years back at the end of Forage, on that last walk through the vines to the dessert station as the sun was setting, my husband, best mate and I were belly‑laughing and loving life. We’d had a little too much sun and a little too much liquid, but still enough sense to reflect on how lucky we are to live where we live and that these are the good days.
