Local Favourites: The Best of Orange

When we’re not tending to our vines or making wine, we love getting out and about in our fantastic town to support its many incredible local offerings. Below is a list of our favourite spots to eat, shop, and settle in for a well-deserved drink. Kids and dogs in tow? Cafés

Visiting during the week? Most cafés are open every day! Here on the weekend? Be sure to check opening times, as some take a well-earned break.

  • Byng Street – A local icon with its signature red door, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Known for its excellent Allpress Espresso among the locals. 
  • Good Eddy – Maddy and Toby make a high-quality coffee and serve up simple, delicious café fare. 
  • Bills Beans – A coffee institution in Orange, roasting its own beans and serving consistently excellent coffee.
  • Groundstone Cafe – The café focuses on supporting local producers, ensuring a menu that highlights the best of the region.
  • Larder & Home (Lucknow) – A picturesque café by Summer Hill Creek, offering hearty breakfasts, fresh pastries, and a curated selection of homewares.

Orange is spoiled for choice when it comes to buttery pastries and fresh, aromatic bread.

  • Ferment Wine Bar – A celebration of Orange’s wine scene, featuring over 200 wines from the Central Ranges.
  • Summer Street Wine Room – A stylish neighbourhood wine bar run by Lizzie and Matt. They are offering artisanal small plates and a thoughtfully curated wine selection.
